Wheather this be your first humidor or not, we want to ensure that you have all the information you need to maintain your cigar collection. Having a good cigar humidor is essential in effectively maintaining the freshness of your cigars.

Cigars are like sponges, they absorb their enviornment, and therefore are dramatically affected by their surroundings. If they are stored in anything less than their optimal environment, cigars can go bad. This is why it is important to store your cigars in the best environment, it helps them age and serves as the perfect smoke.

So, how does one begin looking for a cigar humidor? There are multiple types, brands, qualities, finishes and price points to consider. One might as themselves, what will I be using it for? Travel, personal storage or gift?

All cigar humidors include a hygrometere, which is used to monitor humidity levels. This assists the smoker in maintaining the ideal humidity range between 68% to 70%. The hygrometer is there to identify if the humidity fall outsides this range and alert you that your humidor needs re-charging. We advise keeping your humidor full of cigars, the more empty space you have, the greater liklihood that the humidity will fall.

After purhcasing your humidor, whats the next step? It is important to not just place your cigars immediately in the humidor. First, you need to set-up your cigar humidor for us. To begin your humidor setup, take a clean, soap-free cloth and remove any dust by wiping down the interior. Next, place a shallow container with distilled water inside your humidor. Slowly close the lid and let it set for 12 hours. Following the 12 hours, if substantial amount of water has evaporated, re-fill the container a second time and leave it inside the humidor for another 24 hours. When the water stops evaporating, the humidor is ready for cigar storage.

Remember, before placing your cigars inside the humidor, remove the humidifer unit from your humidor. Submerge the humidifier in distilled water or half distilled water and half Propylene Glycol for 30 minutes. Remove it from the water, thoroughly dry and secure it to the inside of the humidor. You can now place your cigars in the humidor.
